A.CLIMAT.é Erasmus+

A.CLIMAT.é is a 13-day youth worker mobility training course designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary for encouraging the global transition towards low-emission, energy-efficient buildings, regenerative food systems, and active, resilient communities. Building upon the foundations laid by its predecessor, the Perm être training, A.CLIMAT.é advances from theoretical design into practical implementation. The course addresses some of the most urgent global challenges today, such as climate change, food insecurity, and the need for energy self-sufficiency, by introducing participants to sustainable practices that can be applied in local contexts.

The training is specifically targeted at youth workers, leaders, and educators from seven different countries, all of whom are involved in environmental, regenerative, and community-driven initiatives. The course provided a combination of hands-on experiences, theoretical learning, and participatory methods, allowing participants to design and implement vernacular and natural building techniques, energy-efficient solutions, and sustainable food practices. These approaches, grounded in permaculture principles, are adaptable to both community spaces and private homes, helping participants contribute to building more resilient, self-sufficient communities. This knowledge is meant to enable participants to design stable systems that provide shelter, food, and other essential resources in a sustainable and community-driven way, increasing local autonomy and reducing dependence on external systems.

During our two weeks together, our participants learned about wild and medicinal plants from our herbal experts
as well as participated in the eco-construction of various structures such as a tiny house, bio-retention pond, a chicken house, and the foundations of our on-going green house construction.

Finally, the course promotes international cooperation by connecting youth workers and organizations from across Europe. This creates an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, strategies, and experiences that can enhance sustainable development efforts across borders. By nurturing these connections, A.CLIMAT.é supports the development of inclusive, community-driven solutions to climate challenges, encouraging cross-border collaboration and the sharing of knowledge among passionate environmental leaders.
